Jubilee Way (South Gloucestershire). The Jubilee Way is a 26km/16 mile long route which links Aust, at the south side of the Severn Bridge, with Old Sodbury at the base of the Cotswold Hills. It offers a scenic walk along the banks of the Severn Estuary before heading east over the fertile fields of the Severn Vale towards Thornbury, and then on to the limestone escarpment of the Cotswolds.
The Jubilee way goes through the heart of Rangeworthy village past the pub (home of the Hawkdean Hikers) linking two other long distance footpaths - the Cotswold Way and Offa's Dyke Path.
The Bristol Council Web site is an excelent resource for 30 local walks, including routes, maps, points of interest, discription, transport, covering Thornbury, Yate, Bath Bradford-on-Avon, Cheddar, Weston-Super_Mare (routes accessable by public transport). The Five Valleys Walk is a popular circular walk of some 21 miles around Stroud. It has been held annually since 1987, in aid of the Stroud-based Meningitis Trust, usually on the last Sunday in September. The valleys are Cuckold's Brook; Painswick; Slad and Steanbridge; Stroud and Chalford; Rodborough, Woodchester and Nailsworth. (Cuckold, a corruption of Cotswold)

The Ramblers Association have a good reference site for urban walks, this site recommends guide books and leaflets produced by local clubs and how to obtain them, most require a small fee.

Parking is available in a gravel lay by 100m from the public house, opposite some houses (there is a sign from the Parish Council prohibiting overnight camping). Please use this lay by for parking and not the pub car park.
