Pop-ups allow the web page to be displayed correctly as intended by the designer. Pop-ups are additional windows which are opened in addition to the main page. Pop-ups can be blocked or unblocked by the browser settings, normally by right clicking the mouse and selecting unblock when the main web page first loads. Blocking may prevent some parts of the web site from being displayed.
Pop-ups are often associated with virus'es, one of the reasons for this is the pop-up windows can be designed to look exactly like operating system warning boxes or virus checker message boxes, maliciously telling you to download a programme to cure your non existant virus problem. If this occurs block the website and run your virus checker.
If you decide to block pop-ups on this web site, most of the pages will still display normally, the choice is yours.
Most documentation for down load uses Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF). The reason for using pdf files is Adobe reader is free and widely available, is not device/operating system dependant and it is regularly maintained for bug fixes and updates. Also the documents can't be maliciously changed without a lot of effort. Further using other document software like Microsoft word would require several versions of each document.
If you do not have the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® installed on your machine, it can be downloaded from Adobe® by clicking the "Get Adobe Reader" button above (opens in a new window).
